Chess Max Academy is a leading chess tutoring center in New York City, founded and led by renowned Grandmaster and former President of the US Chess Federation, Maxim Dlugy. With its main site on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, directly across from the Museum of Natural History, the academy offers in-person and online chess classes for kids starting as young as 3.5 years and for adults of all skill levels.
The academy exists to promote excellence in chess education, equipping students to improve intellectually and personally. Its mission is to foster critical thinking, patience, and self-confidence through a structured, engaging chess curriculum developed by Grandmaster Dlugy. Students benefit from a wide range of group and private programs, including Chess for Tots, Juniors, and advanced Master classes, as well as after-school sessions, weekend tournaments, summer camps, and the famous World Champion Anatoly Karpov chess camp. Classes are taught by experienced masters and grandmasters, and chess homework, digital tools, and custom exercises are fully integrated into every learning track.
